Insurance Only Covers An Average 35-60% of Total Fees
Even if you have insurance, full ambulance costs are seldom paid. MediCare, for example, only covers 35%-60% of ambulance fees; you would still owe 40-65% of the bill. Private insurance companies often fail to pay certain fees citing "usual and customary limitations," leaving you with unpaid bills.
If you require ambulance service as a Hermiston Fire-Med member, Fire-Med will bill your insurance. Whatever is paid is accepted by Hermiston fire-Med as payment in full. Your $51.00 annual fee entitles you to ambulance service as often as needed during the year. Read the fire-Med Agreement for a full explanation of terms and coverage.
